Using dramatic tricks-of-the-trade, Dr. William R. Kwochka fascinates audiences with his demonstrations of chemistry fundamentals. He holds a doctoral degree in organic chemistry from North Carolina State University.

Anne Rogers
"Archaeology of the Southern Appalachians"

Dr. Anne Rogers, associate professor of anthropology, earned her doctorate at the University of Georgia and has been a WCU faculty member for more than sixteen years. An archaeologist, she leads students in excavations, particularly in Western North Carolina, where they have unearthed artifacts of early settlers and Cherokee Indians. For several summers she has taken students on archaeological digs in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.

Steve Yurkovich
"Geology of the Southern Appalachians: Continents in Collision"

Widely published in his field, Dr. Steven Yurkovich, geologist and associate dean of research and graduate studies, has served on United States Congressional panels concerning nuclear waste disposal under the auspices of the North Carolina Academy of Sciences.
